Wellness Journey With Joe

So I turned 60 this year!  Man, where did the time go?!

Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired?
Are you ready to make a healthy change for yourself?
Then read on!

Before life passes me by I'd like to fulfill an idea I've had for some time, and I am inviting you to join me in any capacity you'd like.  You could simply read about this one year journey of discovery and change, or jump in and join me in making the choices in living a lifestyle congruent with the cells of your body.  The influences on your cells come from three basic activities; the food you put into your body, whether you exercise to keep your organs and muscles fit, and how you deal with the stressors in life.

Now, I know what's good for me, as most of us do, but I have not always made the healthiest choices all the time, as most of us also don't do.  So for one year, beginning August 1st, I will be blogging and addressing food, exercise, and mental health as I go through the year supporting those good habits, and knocking off one less-than-good influence at a time with the expectation that in one year I will know myself even better and be empowered with the confidence I can do most anything.  You might think, "How boring would life be if I can't have my ..." (insert vice here).  But I'll have to tell you, since I have given up some of my less than good habits I really have become empowered, and life, real life I mean, has become quite exciting.  I trust that continued living congruent with the human animal species that we are can only bring more joy.

A woman who I admired passed away recently while in her sixties of ovarian cancer.  She was one of the most remarkable women I have ever met, bringing people together from all over the globe.  When the inevitable was near her daughter asked her what she had learned from life and she said, "It's all about relationships... Love, love, love."  Another friend recently asked her 87 year old father to write a wish to his great grandson and he included "Take care of your health." That is something we often hear from those wise ones in the twilight of their lives.

Well, hopefully this blog, an interactive blog where you can leave posts, can create relationships with the common goal of taking care of our health so we can live happy and productive lives, and leave this world in a better place than we found it when it's time for us to move on.

If you would like to learn more about the information I will be covering I suggest you check out the Introduction and Nutrition Modules in my Wellness Mini-Course, found on the sidebar.  We'll deal with the Exercise and Mental Health Modules later.  Each module is short, big letters and lots of pictures!  The modules will give you an idea of where we're headed.  Don't freak out, we'll be taking it slow, we've got a whole year and then some if we choose.

I will be adding one blog per week at first.  Send me a note through the "Add comment" below or an email through this website and let me know you are on board.  In the future you can contribute to the discussion and I will be posting the relevant comments in order to foster our goal of a life well lived.

Yours in Health,   Joe
